The Goulds ITT NM 3196 is a horizontal overhung, open impeller, centrifugal pump. This pump is ANSI B73.1 compliant. It is made of a fiber-reinforced vinylester to handle severe corrosives. The model is based on 2 power ends and 13 hydraulic sizes.The NM 3196 casing and impeller are constructed of vinylester thermoset resin-industry’s choice formoderate corrosives. Maximum strength is achieved by fiber reinforcement. No fillers are used which reduce corrosion resistance.
The impeller is fully open, screwed onto the shaft, made of fiber-reinforced vinylester cast on an insert made of Hastelloy C. The insert provides threads and the support and rigidity needed to mount the impeller. The threads are sealed from the pumped liquid by a PTFE O-ring. The open impeller is the acknowledged best design for process services. It is ideally suited for corrosive/erosive liquids containing solids and stringy materials. The most reliable pumps feature open impellers as standard.
